Through and through, Buddy's initially dismaying exuberance proves infectious to Walter's work mates as well and restores Christmas cheer and spirit to his romantic interest Jovie (Courtney Sikorah, Caitlan Leblo in other performances.) Suffice to say the overly enthusiastic Buddy throws the father who never knew of his existence, not to mention his step mother and brother, for a loop but also a lesson in the true meaning of Christmas and family especially for workaholic Walter. Once aware that he's human, Buddy sets off for the faraway land of New York to find his father, Walter Hobbs (Stan Graner) who is now married to Emily Hobbs (Meredith Browning) and the father to Michael Hobbs (Patrick Bilbow though played by Kain Berrios in certain performances). For those unfamiliar, Buddy grows up believing he's an elf in Santa's North Pole workshop, only later to learn that he was raised by elves after his mother passed away shortly after he was born.
